Ham Radio at Morrow Mountain State Park, Albemarle, NC 4/20/18-4/22/18

Arrived Friday at 330 PM EST site 94.

I usea G5RV on a telescoptc 30 ft pole. I can’t put it all the way up by myself.

At 5pm I started a fire was getting cool.

Went below freezing overnight. But I had propane furnace I turned on at 0700

To warm up for Morning Net, moved radio inside fotr NCEN, CNE, CSN and 4RNL

Then at 950 the gen ran out of gas so I missed CNL. In the AM I brought the battery in to get on the Morning net then took all equipment outside for the RRI Exercise.

N9SE and I did not complete pass at 1230 EST so I worked W6RRI to pass traffic on 40 at 2PM EST. Heard them on 30 too. Weather was awesome, several people stopped by after either seeing the antenna or hearing the Morse Code.

Got up at 730 on Sunday, made breakfast, got on the Morning net, packed up and headed home. Pulled in driveway at 1110 AM EST.

A fun time Clyde, WC9CW stopped by after securing the mountain top station.

Looking forward to next exercise.
